Impossible to find the schedule. Visit in vain. There is no page, there is no telephone. Absolute lack of respect with the signs posted on the stones themselves. A shame, a lack of vision and knowing how to do things

Monastery converted to parish church. Very picturesque, the guide super friendly. You have to phone for an appointment. Explain everything. I recommend it

I passed through Meira many times, but I never thought that its monastery (today only church) had so much history and that it was so interesting. And all this thanks to the guide who gave us magnificent, interesting explanations. It shows that he lives it. There are few guides this good.

Like all ecclesiastical heritage. Closed. without caring Tables and junk hindering and insulting artistic works. Without any lighting. No historical reference inside or outside. A shame.

In the first place, the location is exceptional, it is located on the main street of the town, it is a road for many travelers and that attracts people. Place of tourist and historical interest, very large and spacious inside, what is "holy week" is painful things must be said, because Andalusia cannot be compared with this but well not bad

Bengtskär Lighthouse

Towering 52 meters above the sea, Bengtskär lighthouse is the tallest one in Scandinavia. The building started in in 1905 after the shipwreck of S/S Helsingfors and was completed in 1906. The lighthouse was designed by architect Florentin Granholm. On December a special petrol lantern, designed and built in Paris, was brought to Bengtskär and installed atop the tower.

German fleet bombarded Bengstkär in the First World War in 1914. Since the Gulf of Finland was heavily mined, it was not until 1919 that the surrounding seas were declared safe for shipping, that the light was lit again.

After the war the military value of Bengtskär increased as part of the defence system of independent Finland. In Second World War (1941) Soviet Union made a suprise attack to island. After a bloody battle, the small Finnish garrison emerged victorious. Intermittent repairs to the facility continued during the post-war period.
