Very beautiful church, and Jesus is present in the tabernacle. However, we arrived while a film (20 mins) was being projected in the dome just above the tabernacle for heritage days. This is not the place. The pilgrims cannot pray and this is a great lack of respect for Jesus, because it is above all his house and not a place to promote industry and local initiatives.

Beautiful and well preserved Abbey and Church from the 12th century. Very good stonework factory with excellent acoustics. It consists of the main altar and two side chapels Its existence in the place is surprising. Nearby is a memorial to the soldiers of the 14th.

Extraordinary Church, on the other hand the video commentary is an infamous soup served by politicians in search of recognition. As usual… we would have simply liked a historical explanation.

Superb church, very well restored! However, the film broadcast on the vault of the heart while the place is sacred is scandalous, especially since it starts even though people are gathering and what's more, it's totally uninteresting... the first 5 minutes have nothing to do with it. no interest ! hearing about the municipal council, the mayor, the factory we don't care... In short, it could very well have been put on a screen in the background without imposing itself on everyone...

Bengtskär Lighthouse

Towering 52 meters above the sea, Bengtskär lighthouse is the tallest one in Scandinavia. The building started in in 1905 after the shipwreck of S/S Helsingfors and was completed in 1906. The lighthouse was designed by architect Florentin Granholm. On December a special petrol lantern, designed and built in Paris, was brought to Bengtskär and installed atop the tower.

German fleet bombarded Bengstkär in the First World War in 1914. Since the Gulf of Finland was heavily mined, it was not until 1919 that the surrounding seas were declared safe for shipping, that the light was lit again.

After the war the military value of Bengtskär increased as part of the defence system of independent Finland. In Second World War (1941) Soviet Union made a suprise attack to island. After a bloody battle, the small Finnish garrison emerged victorious. Intermittent repairs to the facility continued during the post-war period.
