Interesting interior, with nice, pastel colors and beautiful ornamentation. We came across a permanent exhibition (old photos of Zamość families, classes, choirs) and a temporary one dedicated to Rosa Luxemburg. A nice man at the cash register who asks for a donation of PLN 7 for entry :)

⭐The Zamość synagogue, called the Old Town Synagogue, was built in the first half of the 19th century. 17th century. ⭐The temple consists of a high main prayer hall and two lower halls - the so-called women's galleries, intended for women. Inside, there is an altar cabinet (aron ha-kodesh), 5.5 m high, used to store the Torah. ⭐ During World War II, the Nazis devastated the synagogue and turned it into a warehouse and carpentry workshops. Post-war renovation works included, among others, the reconstruction of the southern women's gallery, the attic and the reconstruction of the roof. ⭐ Currently, the building houses a modern cultural center, the "Synagoga" Center. The building houses a tourist and cultural information point for the Hasidic Trail and the Multimedia Museum of the History of Jews in Zamość and the surrounding area. The synagogue still serves religious functions.

Beautiful from the outside, small but with a nice atmosphere, unfortunately I didn't have time to go inside the next time. Next to it is a nice, atmospheric café called Mazgram.

Small and interesting, sightseeing for: PLN 9 and it is a good price. In addition, after sightseeing, we have a discount on the entrance ticket to the cafe next door.
