Pretty charming estate, with buildings from the 12-13th + 16th century. Interesting when combined with lodgings for events (any wedding, family reunion, etc.) in order to be able to stay together while enjoying the place. The lodgings are (summary of gathered opinions) uneven and SOMETIMES basic/perfectible from the point of view of equipment or fittings but in any case always clean and comfortable, especially if we take into account the age and heritage character of the places . Good bedding. Pets prohibited on the estate. Only certain lodgings are accessible to people with reduced mobility. It’s a shame that the castle or the chapel are not open to visitors.

The location is easy to find and indicated. Once you get to the parking lot you start to wonder if you are in the right place, as no one else was there when we were there. It seems like you are walking on private property. It appears that the location is being renovated and we are very curious about the progress.

This castle is simply magical. As a wedding photographer, I have had the chance to shoot there several times and each time it is a huge pleasure. Anyway, looking forward to the next one

Church of St Donatus

The Church of St Donatus name refers to Donatus of Zadar, who began construction on this church in the 9th century and ended it on the northeastern part of the Roman forum. It is the largest Pre-Romanesque building in Croatia.

The beginning of the building of the church was placed to the second half of the 8th century, and it is supposed to have been completed in the 9th century. The Zadar bishop and diplomat Donat (8th and 9th centuries) is credited with the building of the church. He led the representations of the Dalmatian cities to Constantinople and Charles the Great, which is why this church bears slight resemblance to Charlemagne's court chapels, especially the one in Aachen, and also to the Basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna. It belongs to the Pre-Romanesque architectural period.

The circular church, formerly domed, is 27 m high and is characterised by simplicity and technical primitivism.
