The first stone building on the site of current Epemastate was built in the 13th century, but it was demolished already around 1450. The current mansion was built between 1620-1625 by Albada family. The English park was founded in 1825. Today Epemastate offers restaurant and wedding services.

Hello, can you tell me why it is called the Epema State? Who were the first owners of this place? I was just wondering because my Great Great Grandparents from that area were Epema;s. I actually found my Great Great Grandfathers tombstone while visiting. We are from the USA. It was amazing. Thank you. cynthiakayhammer@gmail.com

Beautiful building and nice to walk around. Free parking right next to it.

September 27 we would have our wedding here. Now we received a message yesterday that there had been a fire on the estate last week so that it could not go on, but have a nice day. It now appears that there has been no fire at Epemastate but 30 km away at the farmhouse of the owner of the castles. When we asked the "concierge" Rombout about this, we got back the sentence thank you for your understanding. But we don't understand at all. Should the staff help deposit a new foundation with the owner? The new managers of the castle (Ids and partner) who would arrange the catering for us have also said nothing at all. Messages are read but nothing is responded to. Our wedding has now fallen into the water, but these people are not at all concerned with their customers and have the empathy of a robot. Don't book anything here! The location is beautiful but the staff is completely unfriendly and incompetent to say the least.

Beautiful condition, unique in the Netherlands. It houses offices. Also used as a wedding location. Guided tour on Saturdays and during the week by appointment.

Clementinum

The Clementinum is a historic complex of buildings in Prague. Until recently the complex hosted the National, University and Technical libraries, the City Library also being located nearby on Mariánské Náměstí. The Technical library and the Municipal library have moved to the Prague National Technical Library at Technická 6 since 2009. It is currently in use as the National Library of the Czech Republic.

Its history dates from the existence of a chapel dedicated to Saint Clement in the 11th century. A Dominican monastery was founded in the medieval period, which was transformed in 1556 to a Jesuit college. In 1622 the Jesuits transferred the library of Charles University to the Klementinum, and the college was merged with the University in 1654. The Jesuits remained until 1773, when the Klementinum was established as an observatory, library, and university by the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.
